The near-death experience of her daughter, Rebecca, and her husband's, Jerome, infidelities have crushed Dominique's spirit. Rebecca's ordeal casts Dominique's perception of life in a new light. Her disappointment in herself for accepting years of demoralizing behavior from Jerome impels Dominique to do some painful soul searching and to confront him before she makes any decisions about her life.
