The loss of her mother at age 15, and then contending with an overbearing father alone, launches Ama into a state of rebellion. After high school, she happily leaves home to attend college out of state. The physical distance between Ama and her father draws them closer together emotionally. Ama acquires a Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology, and a Masters degree in Social Work. Her plan to establish a program for at-risk youth comes together nicely. |
